On the occasion of World Day Against Trafficking In Persons, IJM Mumbai is releasing the Annual Review of 2019. The year began with a slew of new projects and rapid momentum achieved on various system reform initiatives that had been initiated in the previous years. Together 2019, highlights the phenomenal shift within the system, with increasing priority being placed on anti-Human Trafficking projects, by the Justice system and concerned Government bodies and stakeholders.
The Annual Review is titled Together, as the objective of IJM Mumbai has always been to collaborate and work with the system to secure justice and protect freedom. It has been encouraging and motivating to work alongside partner NGOs, the Commissions, Police and Judiciary as well as the Women and Child Development Department in Maharashtra, to pursue justice for the most vulnerable in the State.
Maharashtra continues to lead the way in demonstrating that it is indeed possible to prioritise the issues of Child Protection and ensure swift justice for those who have endured unspeakable abuse and trauma.
