Senior Associate,Community & Corporate Engagement

The Mission: 
International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to promote functioning public justice systems.
The Need: 


The Senior Associate, Community and Corporate Engagements reports to the Head- Community and Corporate Engagements. He/ She will be responsible for curriculum development, organising events and training initiatives with but not limited to Schools, Colleges and other community stakeholders. 

The associate will activate and develop the capacity of these community stakeholders to support the Public Justice System (PJS) in rescuing and restoring victims of commercial sexual exploitation.

This position is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra and requires regular travel across Maharashtra and periodic travel throughout India.

Job Location: 

Key Result Areas:

  1. Ensure engagement with institutions and community stakeholders to educate, equip, and engage them in the work of the PJS to combat sex trafficking.
  2. Develop curriculums related to ongoing projects to enhance interphase with our community stakeholders.
  3. Raise volunteers to assist police, courts, and social services who are primarily responsible to conduct rescue operations, support prosecution and provide services that rehabilitate victims of sex trafficking.
  4. Mobilize resources from new and existing community stakeholders that shall aid the capacity of the PJS and rehabilitation of victims of sex trafficking.
  5. Build robust program management structure and M&E frameworks that includes surveys to design, implement, monitor and evaluate projects.
  6. Ensure active participation in monitoring the progress of projects through DIP and QPRs. Ensure Milestones are met, and necessary strategic measures are taken as needed.
  7. Ensure accurate and timely data collection of Training tools.
  8. Support Program Management in ensuring timely and quality project reporting.
  9. Build IJM as a credible leader, inspiring storyteller and arrange for supporters to partner with government agencies in order to reach maximum number of victims and survivors.
  10. Report on significant achievements in PJS to support the dissemination of media stories.
  11. Ensure adherence to communication guidelines, strategy development to increase the impact through CCE efforts.

Required Skills and Experience: 

Education & Experience:


  • Masters or Bachelor’s Degree.



  • Minimum 3 years of experience in conducting community engagements.
  • Relevant work experience in working with communities and institutions.


Technical Competencies:

  • Fluent oral and written skills in English, Hindi or Marathi.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite Software, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
  • Knowledge of investigative techniques, experience with various government social service programs and NGOs.
