24x7 Support Line

24x7 Support Line
In an effort to provide aid, advice, and emergency rescue support, Jan Sahas established an around the clock support line. Within the first week, they had received over 12,000 calls. They have partnered with the government, NGOs, and Civil Society Organizations to provide adequate response for the 21,000 calls they have received.
Guiding them Home
After connecting with 1,12,000 migrant workers, Jan Sahas found out that more than two lakh migrant workers are stuck in transit between Delhi, Noida, Haryana, among other places, heading towards Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. They partnered with transportation operators who willingly provided buses and fuel at no cost, to pick-up and drop-off these labourers to their respective districts.
Providing Medical Assistance and Materials
Taking a leadership role in responding to needs created by the pandemic, Jan Sahas has also distributed 10,000 masks and other personal protective equipment and medicines among the local people in the Dewas District.
Supporting Front-Line Workers
The team has also worked to support the front-line staff, including sanitation workers, AASHA, ANM, and police. Around 825 workers have been provided with personal protection kits
Migrant Labourers Return Home
The team made all necessary efforts to ensure a group of migrant workers reached their homes safely. With the help of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), they organised transportation for 45 migrant workers from Dewas to their hometown in Betul district, Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, 18 buses were organised by the Administration of Dewas to bring back migrants who were stuck in Gujarat, while meeting proper safety guidelines.
International Justice Missions thanks Jan Sahas for their leadership in responding to vulnerable communities during the Covid-19 pandemic. We thank the front-line staff members who are working tirelessly to keep their communities safe.
